Bayer achieved a significant milestone with its third consecutive trial victory in the Kline Roundup™ product liability trial held before Judge Ann Butchart in Philadelphia. This win comes on the heels of another legal success, as plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed with prejudice the Meyer case in the Superior Court of California for Sonoma County. These victories follow closely after a defense verdict in the Cody trial in Conway County, Arkansas, and a mistrial in the Cloud case in Delaware state court, both occurring late last week.

With these outcomes, Bayer has now triumphed in three successive trials, and in 13 of the last 19 cases where judgments were entered at trial. The company attributes these successes to its strategy of taking cases to trial based on strong scientific and regulatory evidence, underscoring that plaintiffs have consistently failed to prove Roundup™ was the cause of the injuries alleged.

The Kline verdict, unanimous in Bayer's favor, is notably the first to emerge after significant rulings in the Philadelphia litigation clarified the admissibility of scientific and regulatory conclusions, a previously contentious issue. Bayer reiterated its sympathy for anyone who suffers loss or injury but remained firm on the safety of Roundup™, stating that science demonstrates it is not carcinogenic. The company vowed to continue defending the safety of its products and its actions in any future litigation with confidence.
