New centrifuge platform combines high-performance sample processing, energy efficiency and next-generation refrigerant technology to meet the evolving needs of modern laboratories

Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, announced the launch of the Thermo Scientific™ M Series Centrifuges, a new generation of compact, high-performance centrifuges designed to support the pace, precision and sustainability goals of modern laboratories.

Developed for clinical, pharmaceutical research and academic laboratories, the Thermo Scientific™ M Series Centrifuges offer exceptional performance in a compact footprint while incorporating energy-efficient technologies and environmentally conscious design features that help laboratories advance their sustainability objectives without compromising performance.

The new centrifuges feature Thermo Scientific™ GreenCool™ Technology, utilizing a next-generation natural refrigerant (R600a) with an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3. The technology complies with both European Union and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency F-gas regulations, supporting laboratories seeking more sustainable equipment solutions. In addition, the M Series Centrifuges consume 15% less energy compared to previous models and are manufactured in Thermo Fisher's certified zero-waste facility in Osterode am Harz, Germany.

"The M Series Centrifuges help deliver the powerful performance needed by modern labs combined with more sustainable innovation," said Noreen Hong, Vice President and General Manager, Growth, Protection and Separation at Thermo Fisher Scientific. "As the latest addition to our portfolio of centrifuges featuring next-generation natural refrigerants, they are a testament to our work to offer more sustainable centrifugation options without sacrificing the precision we know our customers need."

Designed for Versatility and Workflow Efficiency

The M Series Centrifuges are engineered to integrate seamlessly into diverse laboratory environments. With seven optional rotor configurations, including adapter-free dual-row capability and micro-volume processing up to 21,000 × g, users can process a broad range of sample types and volumes using a single instrument.

This flexible design enables laboratories to streamline operations, reduce equipment requirements and improve overall workflow efficiency.

Accelerating Research Through Faster Performance

To help laboratories meet demanding turnaround times, the M Series Centrifuges offer rapid acceleration to 21,100 × g in as little as 12 seconds and feature one-click lid closure for simplified operation.

The systems also support fast temperature management, cooling from room temperature to the set temperature in approximately 4.5 minutes, helping researchers reduce waiting times and accelerate daily protocols.

Enhanced Safety and Durability

The centrifuges are equipped with Thermo Scientific™ ClickSeal™ biocontainment lids, enabling ergonomic one-handed operation while helping protect laboratory personnel during sample handling.

High-performance polymer rotors provide exceptional chemical resistance, minimizing corrosion risks associated with exposure to specific laboratory reagents and supporting long-term operational reliability.

Supporting the Future of Sustainable Laboratories

As laboratories across healthcare, biopharmaceutical research and academia increasingly prioritize operational sustainability, Thermo Fisher continues to invest in technologies that combine scientific excellence with environmental responsibility.

The Thermo Scientific™ M Series Centrifuges represent the latest addition to Thermo Fisher's growing portfolio of sustainable laboratory solutions designed to help customers improve productivity, reduce environmental impact and support scientific discovery.
