Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, together with the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF), proudly marked the 10th anniversary of the Little Scientists project, an impactful initiative dedicated to advancing scientific literacy and inspiring the next generation of innovators across China.
The anniversary celebrations spanned four schools, where students had the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on scientific exploration using handheld spectrometers to test everyday materials. The interactive activities were designed to deepen understanding of environmental safety and health while nurturing curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Since its inception in 2015, the Little Scientists project has reached more than 150,000 young learners and donated over 45,000 boxes of science experiment supplies for students to explore at home. By bringing engaging, accessible STEM resources to classrooms and communities, the program empowers children to develop critical thinking skills and a passion for discovery.
“We believe that nurturing scientific curiosity from an early age is key to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges,” said Thermo Fisher spokesperson at event. “Our decade-long collaboration with CYDF reflects our shared commitment to broadening access to STEM education and fostering talent that will drive future innovation.”
The Little Scientists project is part of Thermo Fisher’s broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, working with global partners to create inclusive learning opportunities and strengthen communities through science.
As Thermo Fisher and CYDF look ahead to the next decade of collaboration, the program will continue to expand its reach, bringing transformative STEM experiences to even more young people across China.
