Mankind Pharma allocates 40 crore to support with Oxygen Cylinder and Concentrator PAN India

To combat the coronavirus crisis, Mankind Pharma, the 4th largest pharmaceutical company in India (As per IQVIA) has allocated 40 crores from its CSR funds to help COVID patients and their families struggling for oxygen cylinders and concentrators.

The last few months have been traumatic as the country is grappling with a deadly second wave of the pandemic and medical oxygen in India has been in severe shortage. Considering the  exponential surge in the demand of oxygen cylinder and concentrators as COVID-19 cases are on the rise in India,  the homegrown pharmaceutical company has come forward to help the society by lending a helping hand to the ones in need.


The team has decided to arrange around 3000-3500 each oxygen cylinders and concentrator support which will be distributed PAN India in different hospitals. To determine the number of cylinder and concentrators and the order in which these are distributed to each state, Mankind pharma has created a score card based on the number of parameters such as no. of new cases and no. of active cases etc. Through this CSR initiative, the company has allocated 40 crore and has said will allocate more funds if need be to make it available for common people.


Mankind Pharma has also set up a 70 bed isolation centre at Hotel New Destination, Civil Lines, Gurugram for COVID patients. The facility will be equipped with all COVID related requirements like beds, oxygen, concentrators and all crucial medicine availability and is recommended for patients who are not in position to arrange the oxygen cylinders and have mild symptoms. 


Speaking on this initiative, Shri. RC Juneja, Executive Chairman, Mankind Pharma, said, “The unprecedented medical crisis created by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an exponential surge in the demand for healthcare facilities. We at Mankind Pharma are trying our bit to help provide medical assistance. The acute shortage in the oxygen cylinder and concentrator for the treatment of COVID-19 positive patients, led us to take this initiative to allocate 40crores from our CSR Funds and if need be, we will increase the budgets as per the requirement. Our team is always committed towards making world a healthier and happier place, with this little initiate of ours we hope to provide accessible and affordable healthcare.” 


In the COVID-19 crisis, Mankind Pharma recently also donated a sum of Rs 100 crores to support the families of all frontline workers, that includes doctors, police officers, pharmacists, and other healthcare workers, who lost their lives saving the lives of others on the account of the pandemic.
