BIO Asia-Taiwan 2021 to be carried out in "All Online" format

In response to the ongoing restrictions in Taiwan due to the COVID-19 pandemic, BIO Asia-Taiwan 2021 will take place as planned from July 21-25, but in a purely online format, with activities such as the conference, the exhibition, BIO's one-on-one partnering™, company presentations and more. However, the on-site exhibition will be postponed to November 4-7, 2021 and will continue to take place at TaiNEX 2, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei.

"With the 'All-Online' format, the meeting will enable the biomedical community from around the world to network without borders," said Johnsee Lee, chairman of the organizing committee.

Participants from 34 countries and regions have already registered, including more than 500 manufacturers from Asia and around the world, who are participating in the online exhibition and company presentation program. Note that the exhibition has now been extended by four days and now opens on July 19 and closes on July 28.

Under this year's conference theme, "A Brave New Era for Biotechnology," a high-profile line-up of more than 100 speakers was invited, including Robert Langer of MIT,known as the "Edison of Medicine," Michael Houghton,2020 Nobel Laureate,IQVIA's Graham Lewis, and PwC's Claire Love. Topics include breakthrough technologies, the latest medical innovations, pandemic response measures and post-pandemic strategies, digital health, gene and cell therapies, and collaborations and investments in the bio-industry.

On the topic of pandemic control, Chunhuei Chi, Director of the Center for Global Health at Oregon State University, Asher Yeshaihu Salmon from the Israeli Ministry of Health and Dr. Li Bingying from the National University of Taiwan will speak.

"During the pandemic, we have continued to work with local stakeholders to bring the domestic biotechnology industry up to international standards," said Herbert Wu,chairman of the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization (Taiwan BIO), which, along with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), is one of the organizers of BIO Asia-Taiwan 2021. "BIO Asia-Taiwan 2021 will maintain this momentum and we expect the industry not only to survive the pandemic, but to emerge stronger from it and benefit from a wave of international collaborations and fundraising opportunities as a result of the meeting," he added.

Registration for the conference is currently open, with the pre-registration discount ending on July 18.
