Samsung Epis Holdings Establishes First Global R&D Hub in Beijing to Advance ADC and Novel Drug Development

New China based research centre strengthens Samsung Epis Holdings' innovation strategy, focusing on antibody drug conjugate platforms and next generation biologics development.

Samsung Epis Holdings Co., Ltd., an investment holding company dedicated to innovation in biopharmaceuticals and biotechnology, today announced the establishment of a new research and development (R&D) center in Changping District, Beijing, China, marking a significant milestone in the company’s evolution as an investment holding company.

“The establishment of the new R&D center reflects our commitment to advancing new growth opportunities and strengthening our competitiveness in novel drug development,” said Kyung-Ah Kim, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Samsung Epis Holdings. “By bringing together world-class scientific talent and advanced technological infrastructure in China, which has become an increasingly important global center for ADC innovation, we aim to further enhance our capabilities in the development of next-generation biologic therapies."

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Epis Holdings, Samsung Bioepis (China) Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Samsung Bioepis China R&D Center”) will serve as the company’s global R&D hub, with a strategic focus on securing antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology platforms and strengthening its capabilities in novel drug development.

Samsung Bioepis China R&D Center is scheduled to officially open in June 2026. It will operate as a field-oriented R&D organization supported by world-class R&D infrastructure and leading scientific talent in the region. Located in Changping District, the center will benefit from its proximity to Zhongguancun Life Science Park, a globally recognized life sciences innovation cluster, as well as renowned academic institutions such as Peking University and Tsinghua University.
